Before slurry pump launching, driven by a motor, the absorption pipe and pump are full of liquid. When impeller rotates at high speed, the liquid among impeller rotates with it as well. Because of the centrifugal force, the liquid is thrown to the other edge of the impeller from the center, the kinetic energy increasing as well. When the liquid enters the case of pump, the liquid flow speed gradually reduces because the runner in volute-shaped pump housing enlarges. A part of kinetic energy turns into hydrostatic energy. The liquid outflows at higher pressure. At the same time, the impeller center creates a vacuum because of the liquid outflow. The pressure on the impeller sufrace is higher than the center of impeller. Therefore, the liquid adsorbed into pipe enters pump under differential pressure. The impeller rotates, and the liquid is adsorbed and pinched out.
